Madonna and Guy Ritchie are apparently getting on famously and are set to be neighbours. According to a report in a British newspaper the Sherlock Holmes director has bought a home 200 yards from his former wife's London mansion so he can be close to his sons when Madonna beings them back to England.

Forty-year-old Guy is understood to have paid millions for a four story town house, and Madonna is reportedly happy to have him "as close as possible" for the benefit of Rocco, six, and three-year-old David.

A source tells the Sun the couple are "getting on better than they have in years". The 50-year-old singer is reported to have even laughed when Guy made a joke about her new Brazillian boyfiend Jesus Luz, 22, speaking little English.

According to the paper Guy quipped: "Blimey, no wonder the whole thing works so perfectly."

The Material Girl was touched when after her failed adoption bid of four year-old Malawian orphan mercy james last month, supportive Guy spoke up in her defence. He praised her as "a great mum", adding "She is motivated only by being a caring parent who seeks to share some of the advantages and opportunities that her life has given her"
