Demi Lovato had a surprise announcement to make on the radio this week. "I have an older sister I've never known my whole life, who's in her 30s," the X Factor judge said when asked by Long Island radio station WBLI if there was anything personal she wanted to share with her fans.
"She's my half-sister, but I talked to her for the very first time in my life when I turned 20," she revealed.

"I asked her, I said, 'Why haven't you ever contacted me?'. She said, 'Well I never wanted you to think I wanted anything from you. So I've just been waiting to see if you wanted a relationship.'
"I thought that was so incredible. So I actually have three sisters."
Demi's discovery occurred fairly recently; the singer-songwriter only celebrated her 20th birthday in August of last year.
It is not known which side of the family her new sister is from. Demi's parents are Dionna Hart de le Garza and Patrick Lovato; she has an older sister Dallas and a younger half-sister Madison from her mother's remarriage.
However, despite her candidness on air when talking about her extended family, Demi refused to discuss her love life.
Asked whether she was back together with her on-off boyfriend, former That 70s Show Wilmer Valderrama, she replied, "I like to keep my private life like my life and stuff like that," she said. "And my friends and family and everything like that, I like to keep very sacred… Unfortunately, no, I would not like to comment."
