Born in Salford, Samia Smith got her big break in 2000 when she beat ex-Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw and Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh to the role of Maria Sutherland in Coronation Street. But she made her screen debut years earlier at the tender age of 11, appearing on crime drama Cracker. The gorgeous brunette, who was once named soap's sexiest female, shed her Lebanese surname - Ghadie - when she married her property developer Matthew in September 2005.
