Maidstone-born Shaun had a string of jobs, including stints as a postman and a holiday rep at Pontin's, before he embarked upon his career in the entertainment industry. After studying acting for three years he picked up a few minor TV roles, but his big break came in 1994 when he landed the part of Albert Square car salesman and buffoon Barry Evans on EastEnders. Proving a hit with viewers, he remained on the show until 2004. He's also appeared in various stage productions including Saturday Night Fever in the West End and played an unemployable actor in hit Ricky Gervais comedy Extras. Shaun, who's also a professional singer and after-dinner speaker, lives in Kent with his wife Melanie and their two children, Sophie Mae and Joseph.
