During a career spanning 30 years, Dexter has made a name for himself on both the small and big screens. His break as a child actor came when he was cast as Babyface alongside Jodie Foster and Scott Baio in Bugsy Malone. But it was his role as American teen Spike Thomson in Press Gang, which he landed at age 23, that made him a household name alongside Julia Sawalha whom he dated for several years. He has since appeared in gangster flicks Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Layer Cake, as well as the Golden-globe winning series Band Of Brothers. His diverse CV also includes costume drama The Virgin Queen and a turn as a concierge in hit BBC series Hotel Babylon. Happily married to director Dalia Ibelhauptaite, his best man was none other than Alan Rickman.
