Who is Mollie King?

Born in Wandsworth, London on 4 June, 1987, Mollie King is the youngest of three daughters born to Susan and Stephen King.

The singer initially dreamed of a career on the ski slopes and was picked for Britain's junior ski team, receiving a scholarship to the British Ski Academy. She soon turned her back on sports to pursue her passion for entertaining.

Mollie tried her luck twice on X Factor - once as a solo act and then with the girl band, Fallen Angelz, but they didn't progress past the Bootcamp stage.

The Saturdays

In 2007, Mollie auditioned to be one-fifth of The Saturdays, along with Frankie Bridge, Una Healy, Vanessa White and Rochelle Humes. Their debut single If This Is Love landed in the top ten. From there it was a roller coaster ride to fame, with the girls popping up on the airwaves, in magazines and on TV.

By 2010, the band had sold two million records, with their chart-topping tunes including Notorious, All Fired Up, Higher and Missing You

The group toured and collaborated extensively during their time. Some of their biggest moments include opening for Girls Aloud during their Tangled Up Tour, scoring thirteen Top 10 hits and releasing a mini album, Headlines!, in 2010 featuring Flo Rida.

Things for The Saturdays started slowing down in 2015, with Mollie and Frankie Bridge suggesting that the group had gone on hiatus for a time with a plan to release a new album the following year at the earliest.

The album sadly never came to light, with Vanessa White revealing in 2017 that she had no plans to return to The Saturdays in the near future. Una Healy went on to release her debut country album, The Waiting Game, in the same year.

While Mollie hinted at a possible reunion at the end 2017, we are still yet to see plans come to life.

Mollie's radio and television career

Mollie has carved out a successful presenting career for herself and can frequently be heard on the airwaves hosting BBC Radio 1's weekend breakfast show with Matt Edmondson, as well as Future Pop on BBC Radio 1.

In 2017, Mollie took part in the 15th season of Strictly Come Dancing. She was partnered with AJ Pritchard and the pair were eliminated from the show's semi-final.

Mollie's family life
