When meeting royalty, a bow, a curtsey or even a handshake is the usual greeting. Babies aren't exactly versed in the correct royal protocol, though, as the Duchess of Cornwall found out this week.
On an official visit to Inverness in the Highlands with her husband Prince Charles, Camilla, 61, was particularly taken with one-year-old Katie McPherson, stopping to give the cute youngster a playful tickle on her tummy. When the royal stooped down to say hello, however, the tot reached up and grabbed her nose.
A grandmum herself, the Duchess took it all in her stride. She has two grandchildren - 19-month-old Lola - the daughter of her food writer son Tom Parker Bowles and his wife Sara, and Eliza, 16 months, whose parents are the Camilla's daughter Laura and husband Harry Lopez.
Little nose tweaker Katie and her mum were among families and troops attached to the Royal regiment of Scotland which has served in Afghanistan.
