Nothing beats a hug from one of your favourite girls after a hard day at work. That's what Barack Obama must've been thinking as he scooped up his youngest daughter Sasha, who leapt excitedly into his arms as he arrived home to the White House. The eight-year-old had been waiting patiently on the South Lawn for the arrival of her dad, along with big sister Malia, 12, and the first pet, Bo. And after Mr Obama touched down in his helicopter, following a day trip to Ohio and Pensylvania, the youngster's joy was evident. She sprinted across the grass to be the first to welcome him back. The following day, the American leader stayed on home turf and had his own 'may the force be with you' moment. Using a plastic lightsaber similar to those in the Star Wars films, Barack tried his hand at some sword play. He wasn't recreating scenes from the film, however. The 48-year-old was taking part in a demonstration with members of the U.S. fencing team to support Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympic Games. First Lady Michelle, fresh and funky in a multi-coloured skirt, lime green top and vivid blue cardi, also had a go with a foam sword. The couple were happy to watch from the sidelines when the judo team demonstrated some throws and rolls however.
Special welcome home for the 'daddy of all presidents', Barack Obama
