It seems like yesterday, but a year has already passed since Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westling announced their engagement.
And ahead of the giant party planned for their June nuptials, the couple chose to celebrate in intimate style.
According to Swedish magazine Svensk Damtidning, the pair gathered their closest friends for a secret dinner in Stockholm restaurant Operakällaren.
There, over a meal cooked by chef Stefano Catenacci, who will also provide the food at Victoria and Daniels' wedding, the party toasted the future happiness of the couple.
Meanwhile, Daniel has started preparing for his future royal duties by going back to school, the Swedish Court has announced.
The 36-year-old businessman has just started a programme to learn more about “the ceremonies and culture inheritance that is linked to the history of the monarchy”.
Running for a year and a half, the course includes studies in political science, history, Swedish culture, as well as visits to organisations.
Once married, he will be known as Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland, and will be expected to maintain a special public connection with the province.
