All eyes on Queen Silvia as Sweden sets date for baby Estelle's christening

As excitement builds ahead of Sweden's royal baptism, all eyes are on Crown Princess Victoria and her family ahead of her baby's big day.

Glowing first time-grandmother Queen Silvia gave nothing away when she stepped out to pick up an award in her native Germany for her work with young people.

But soon after her appearance the Swedish royal family announced that a date has been set.

It had been previously thought that a local politician had given away information about the event.

Swedish newspaper The Local reported that Governer Maria Norrfalk pulled out of an engagement scheduled for May 16, citing the baptism as the reason and inadvertently giving the date away.

But despite the revelation, aides denied that Victoria and her husband Daniel will have a ceremony for their daughter on that day, revealing the actual date to be May 22.

The royal event takes place two days after Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife Princess Marie christen their daughter.
