William, Kate and Harry to light up the Games this summer

This dynamic threesome has helped make the British monarchy more popular than ever.

And now The Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Prince Harry will apply their winning formula to this summer's Olympic Games.

The trio – who have already been named as ambassadors for the Games – will be watching when torchbearers carry the Olympic Flame through Buckingham Palace on July 26.

It will mark the end of a 70-day relay by which time the torch will have passed the length and breadth of the country.

Other royal destinations on the route include Balmoral Estate on June 11, Sandringham on July 4 and Windsor Castle on July 10, where the Queen will get a chance to meet the torchbearers.

The final destination will be the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, East London, where the opening ceremony takes place on July 27.

Kate and the royal family have already been working to whip up excitement ahead of the event.

The Duchess made her mark when she enjoyed a game of hockey with Team GB players in March and Harry enjoyed a sprint with 100m champ Usain Bolt on a trip to Jamaica.
