Smiling Prince Carl Philip returns to royal duties after nightclub attack

Carl Philip of Sweden cuts a dashing figure as he returns to royal duties following a club brawl.

On Tuesday, the young royal was all smiles as he visited the historical town from which he takes his title, the Duke of Värmland.

His inauguration of a manufacturing plant in the area was a world away from the controversial nightclub incident which made headlines last week.

The second child of King Carl Gustaf was partying at Baoli club with girlfriend Sofia Hellqvist, when he was set upon by three men.

The unprovoked attack was caught on video by a witness' mobile phone, and showed the royal being struck across the face.

He later told Aftonbladet newspaper the affair had been "an emotional and overwhelming experience," but the 33-year old is now fully recovered following the unsavoury incident.

A palace spokesperson said: "We're considering how we can proceed with a possible lawsuit. This will be decided this week."
