Wedding rehearsal for Guillaume and Stephanie ahead of first joint interview

Preparations are well under way after Prince Guillaume and his bride-to-be Countess Stephanie de Lannoy were spotted visiting Our Lady of Luxembourg cathedral.

The couple were attending a wedding rehearsal at the impressive venue - which hosted the royal wedding of his parents Grand Duke Henri and Maria Teresa - and overseeing details for their big day, which takes place on October 20.

Upon their return to the Ducal Palace Guillaume and Stephanie were congratulated by members of the public who are eagerly anticpating the special day.

Whilst some details about the occasion's proceedings and the guest list have already been revealed, information about Stephanie's dress remains firmly under wraps.

It is hoped that the pair will give a hint of what can be expected on the day in the interviews they have recently given to the Luxembourg media. These are expected to be released in due course.

The ceremony, now a mere two weeks away, will see Belgian-born Stephanie gain Luxembourgish nationality.

After a decision made in parliament, which will be confirmed on October 9, Stephanie will follow other European royal heirs whose marriages have changed their citizenship.

Princess Mary of Denmark, who is Australian by birth, gained Danish citizenship when she said 'I do' to Prince Frederick. Likewise Argentinian Princess Maxima became a Dutch national following her marriage to Willem-Alexander of Holland.
