Princess Estelle celebrates her first brithday

Princess Estelle of Sweden turned one this Saturday and what better way to celebrate the milestone than with a tasty cake.

The young royal tucked into her birthday treat, which was topped with colourful animals and a single candle, with a little help from her mum Crown Princess Victoria and dad Prince Daniel.

Birthday girl Estelle wore an adorable bow in her hair to match her blue and white striped dress, which was cutely adorned with balloons and ribbons.

The outfit is similar to one worn by Princess Victoria on her first birthday, in 1978.

The cute photographs of Estelle on her special day were posted by the Swedish royal family along with a reminder that birthday wishes can be sent to the youngster online.

Victoria and Daniel married in June 2010 and Estelle arrived in February 2012.

The youngster – who is second in line to the Swedish throne – was christened the following May in a ceremony that drew many European royals to Stockholm's Royal Chapel.

Christened Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary of Sweden, she has a number of blue-blooded godparents, including Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Prince Haakon of Norway, Prince Willem-Alexander and her uncle Prince Carl Philip of Sweden.
