Princess Eugenie joins forces with mum Sarah Ferguson to open hospital ward

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and her daughter Princess Eugenie are inseparable, and on Tuesday they joined forces for a good cause.

The duo stepped out to officially inaugurate an innovative facility for young cancer patients at University College Hospital's Cancer Centre.

Sarah has been patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust since 1990 and has passed her passion for the cause onto Eugenie, 22, and her sister Beatrice, 24, who are also lifelong supporters of the charity.

Beatrice was due to attend, with her mother indicating on Twitter that both daughters would be present to cut the ribbon. But the young royal wasn't pictured at the event.

"I am so honoured to be opening the new TeenageCancer unit UCLH cancer centre today..." Sarah had also said on her account.

The new unit will provide outpatient treatment for young patients across London and the surrounding areas.

It has been exclusively designed to bring them together in a social environment which supports the difficulties of their treatment.
