Prince William and his grandparents, who are currently enjoying a summer holiday at their Scottish estate, were seen driving through the moors of Balmoral for the shoot.
Each royal was driving their own 4x4 vehicle and the Queen's car bonnet was customised with a model of a silver dog carrying a grouse in its mouth.
William, who finally introduced his son Prince George to the Duke of Edinburgh last week, was seen smiling as he and a friend drove through the highlands.
It is thought that while William and George are in Scotland the British royal family will take the oppurtunity for a unique family photograph of the Queen and the first, second and third-in-line to the throne.
New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key and his family are currently staying with the Queen at Balmoral.
The Prime Minister, his wife Bronagh, and their children Stephie and Max were seen arriving at the Aberdeenshire castle on Friday.
