The new conjugal coat of arms represents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as a married couple and was approved this year by the Queen.
The design features the Duke's shield on the left, which is the version of the royal coat of arms granted to him by the Queen on his 18th birthday.

On the right is the Duchess's shield, from the Middleton family Coat of Arms, which was granted to the family in 2011 ahead of her marriage.
There is a nod to William’s mother Princess Diana, too, as the coat of arms also features an image of an escallop shell derived from the Spencer coat of arms.
