Princess Victoria is very taken by lederhosen-clad men on German trip

Like many women, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden seemed utterly fascinated when she was introduced to a group of brawny lederhosen-clad locals on a four-day trip to Germany. Her husband Prince Daniel looked on good naturedly as she stopped for a few minutes to chat to the men, who were decked out in the leather trousers and cap typical to Bavaria. One of their other engagements involved a football match at a project to help integrate refugees. The couple charmed everyone, with Daniel, a former personal trainer joining in the match at one point and Victoria shouting encouragement from the sidelines.

Of course, Victoria is familiar with the country as her mother hails from there. In fact, it was in the capital of Bavaria, at the 1972  Munich Olympics that Queen Silvia met husband King Carl Gustaf. Afterwards, the VIP royals were driven to Berlin – flying was ruled out because of the ash cloud – where they were welcomed by President Christian Wulff and his wife Bettina to their official residence Bellevue Palace. Their trip also included a stop at the world famous Brandenburg Gate.

The heiress to the Swedish throne has been here to the German capital on a number of occasions. Eight years ago, in the early stages of their romance, Daniel visited Victoria during her stint as an intern for the Swedish Trade Council in Berlin.
