1/16Pregnant Kate dressed her baby bump in a light pink coat by Alexander McQueen, the creators of her famous wedding dress. The Duchess of Cambridge added a matching pink hat by couture milliner Jane Corbett which she previously wore last May at the Diamond Jubilee garden party.
2/16As she did at last year's ceremony, The Duchess of Cambridge shared the carriage with her brother-in-law Prince Harry and, mother-in-law Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who chose a cream outfit for the occasion. To protect themselves from the cold a blue and green tartan blankett was provided in the carriage.
3/16Prince Harry looked dapper in his military uniform, smiling at the hordes of well-wishers who had gathered to see the royal procession.
4/16The Queen's second child, Prince Andrew, was joined by his two daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. The Princesses visited their grandfather, Prince Philip, in hospital on Friday. The close sisters were photographed arriving at the London Clinic on Harley Street, where the Duke of Edinburgh was admitted last Friday.
5/16Given her husband's absense the Queen was accompanied throughout her official birthday celebrations by her cousin, the Duke of Kent. The last time Prince Philip missed the Trooping of the Colour was back in 1968 due to an overseas engagement. Following this year's ceremony, the Queen visited her husband, 92, in hospital.
6/16The royal colonels took part in the ceremony on horseback. Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales is Colonel of the Welsh Guards, Princess Anne, the Princess Royal is the Colonel of the Blues and Royals and father-to-be Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge is Colonel of the Irish Guards.
7/16The colourful procession drew tens of thousands to the British capital.
8/16The Queen looked splendid in a royal blue outfit as she inspected the Household Cavalry at the Horse Guards Parade with Princess Anne, Prince Charles and Prince William close by on horseback.
9/16Prince Harry was spotted making Kate laugh as they waited for Prince William and the rest of the royal family to join them on the palace balcony.
