Mike Tindall playfully chases little daughter Mia during day out

Little Mia Tindall showed off her running skills on Saturday as she enjoyed a day out with dad Mike Tindall. The pair were watching mum Zara during a horse-riding competition, but it seems that Mia lost interest as she was spotted trying to make a run for it, heading towards the exit of Gatcombe park, where the event was held.

Mike quickly chased after his adorable daughter, swiftly picking her up and bringing her back to the group, clearly amused at his daughter's attempt to outrun him.

Although Mia was initially unimpressed at being taken back, she was soon back to being content as Mike carried her and soothed her. At one point she sat on her 6ft father's shoulders, sipping from a water bottle as she watched the competitors.

Mike recently opened up about fatherhood, admitting that he was a very "hands-on dad" to the couple's 20-month old daughter.

"You've got to be a hands-on dad nowadays," he told The Times. "Plus Zara spends a lot of time with the horses, so I don't have much choice in that sense."

The 36-year-old Rugby Union star also revealed that, despite his high-profile career on the field, Mia has no idea what her dad used to do – and quipped that he will have to "wheel out the videos" of himself in action to show her.

It comes as no surprise that Mike took his daughter along to support Zara. The former sportsman opened up about his Olympic-winning equestrian wife, and her hopes to compete in the Rio Olympics next year.

"That's the next big thing for her," he said. The doting husband also admitted that his plan was her and her steed High Kingdom to qualify and then he'll "wrap them both up in cotton wool" to avoid injuries.
