The king and queen of Bhutan have been proudly sharing the sweetest photos of their royal baby Prince Jigme and to mark the start of July, a new picture has been released. The portrait was more relaxed than previous ones and showed the young royal being carried by his doting dad King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

The father-son duo stand in a field of maize in Dungkhar, Lhuentse during a visit to eastern Bhutan in June.

King Jigme and Queen Jetsun had the chance to show off their four-month-old son to locals in the area.

Dungkhar holds a special place in the royal family's heart. It is the ancestral home of the Wangchuck Dynasty, and is where King Jigme's father Jigme Namgyel came from.

The picture was posted on Queen Jetsun's Instagram page although it was originally taken from a calendar released by Yellow. Each month the company unveils a new photo of the royals that doubles up as a calendar.

Queen Jetsun has been dubbed the "Kate of the Himalayas"

King Jigme, 26, and Queen Jetsun, 26, who have been dubbed the 'William and Kate of the Himalayas', welcomed their first child on 5 February. But the couple, who like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge married in 2011, didn't announce the name of their son until two months after the birth.

Speaking to the people of Bhutan at the naming ceremony, King Jigme revealed that he and his wife had decided to call their son Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck.
