The Danish royal family were out in full force over the weekend to celebrate the confirmation of 14-year-old Prince Felix. The teenager's parents Prince Joachim and Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg, who split in 2005, were reunited at the family affair. Prince Felix was also supported by his older brother Prince Nikolai, his stepmother Princess Marie, and Marie and Joachim's two young children, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena.

The confirmation service was held at Fredensborg Palace on Saturday. Following the ceremony, the royals posed for pictures on the church steps with Felix, who is eighth in line to the Danish throne, looking all grown up in a navy suit and red tie. The young royal shook hands with Bishop Erik Normann Svendsen before heading back into the palace for official portraits.

The Danish royal palace shared a few photos on Facebook, giving fans a glimpse into the family celebration. One picture showed Felix proudly standing in the middle, flanked by his mum Alexandra and dad Joachim, his brother Nikolai, his stepmother Marie and his younger half-brother and half-sister. Completing the royal family in another photo was Queen Margrethe, 76, and Prince Henrik, 82. The royals were joined by Felix's godparents.
Prince Joachim's older brother Crown Prince Frederik and his wife Crown Princess Mary also attended the service, with their four children Princess Isabella, Prince Christian and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.

Inside the Danish royal family's ski holiday
Joachim and his first wife Alexandra were married from 1995 to 2005. The ex-couple met at a party in Hong Kong, where Alexandra was born and raised, and after a whirlwind engagement Joachim proposed with a diamond ruby ring. They married in November 1995, welcoming their first son Prince Nikolai in August 1999 followed by Prince Felix in July 2002. The couple share joint custody of their sons. Joachim married his second, French-born wife Princess Marie in 2008.
