Earl Spencer, Princess Diana's younger brother, will be hosting a very special event at their family home in June in honour of the late Princess. On behalf of The Diana Award charity, Charles is hosting a fundraising gala in partnership with the Global Gift Initiative. The glittering event will take place at Althorp House in Northamptonshire on Wednesday 14 June.

Over the past 18 years, Earl Spencer has supported the youth charity, which was set up in memory of Princess Diana's belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better. He has spoken of how the Diana Award fits so perfectly with his late sister's core values of kindness, compassion and service.

"I have always championed the Diana Award, from the moment it was raised as a possibility in the grim days after my sister's death," he said. "It so clearly chimed with her love for children and young people, and reflected her bravery in fighting for good causes, which she possessed from a very early age."

Meanwhile, Diana's childhood home Althorp House will also play host to a special exhibition entitled Walking in her Shoes this summer. It will showcase twenty inspirational young people who hold the Diana Award for the monumental impact they've had on society and the lives of others. A second, separate exhibition will also go on display at the country estate, featuring 15 iconic images taken in 1997 by Mario Testino of the late Princess. The photographs Mr Testino initially shot for Vanity Fair turned out to be the last official portraits taken of Diana.
