DIAMOND DAISIES
When Prince Charles threw his companion a 50th birthday party at Highgrove in 1997, the high-wattage smile on the guest of honour's face as she arrived could only be matched by the gleaming necklace she was wearing a string of diamond daisies set in a gold link chain, said to be a family heirloom.

While some thought the diamonds were a birthday gift from her beloved Buckingham Palace refused to comment on the rumour his present to her was actually a diamond and emerald bracelet, speculated to cost around 100,000.

But for an increasingly stylish and confident Camilla, the best gift of the night was taking her romance with the heir to the throne public. "The Prince was obviously very proud of her," said one guest. "Everybody sensed that this was an historic night."
