Although Stephanie's extravagant behaviour has at times provoked tension
between her and her father, Prince Rainier continues to take pride in his
wayward offspring. Their love of the circus is a strong unifying factor, and
the princess sometimes stands in for the frail monarch at Big Top events.
A devoted and loving mother, Stephanie has two children – Louis, born in
1992, and daughter Pauline Grace, born in 1994 – by her first husband, as
well as 1998 arrival Camille, whose father's name she has never disclosed.
"Being a mother is the only true meaning in my life. It's everything," she
once said.
