A recent amendment to the Monegasque constitution allows for Caroline and
Stephanie, and then their children, to inherit should Prince Albert not have
any offspring of his own. Stephanie's elder children, Louis and Pauline -
although born out of wedlock - became eligible to inherit when their mother
married Daniel, but under the current law of succession, Camille has no
claim unless Stephanie marries the father or she is legitimised through new
legislation.
Such issues are probably far from Stephanie's thoughts as she continues to
bring up her family, keep faith with her royal duties, and tread her own
inimitable path through life. The only thing that does seem beyond doubt is
that even with the increased harmony that surrounds her now, Stephanie of
Monaco will not cease to surprise us in the future.
