According to many Amazon shoppers, Henry vacuum cleaners have the edge when it comes to suction and durability, and their price point is a big selling point too. Check out what reviewers are saying…
I’ve become something of a vacuum expert during the last few years. It’s not exactly something you talk about at parties, but it comes in handy when it comes to getting ahead with the cleaning.
I’m always looking for the products with the best reviews – and when I see shoppers consistently saying a particular product is "better than Dyson and Shark", I sit up and take notice.
I’m talking about Henry vacuum cleaners – which are instantly recognisable because they look rather like a kids’ toy – a little round red cylinder with a cute face, with the detachable Airobrush Turbo Head attachment serving as the nose.

You shouldn’t be fooled by his cute appearance though, this little fella is in fact a mean cleaning machine!
The aforementioned reviews are glowing, with a near-perfect 4.8 out of 5-star rating on Amazon. They consistently say that for suction power, functionality and durability, the Henry is "unbeatable".
“These things are bulletproof. Yes it's not as sleek looking as a Dyson, but then I could buy four of these for a single Dyson,” writes one reviewer.

Says another: “After years of trying the latest Dysons, Vax and Sharks. I have still ended up going back to good old Henry. Suction and durability are much better. And no having to take out filters and wash them every month is a big bonus for me.”
Several reviewers said they’d been recommended a Henry by professional cleaners, for being robust and a great choice for busy households with pets and children, and they hadn’t looked back.
One shopper writes: “I have always heard that the 'Henry' is used by professional people... but was always a bit doubtful about these claims until I became worn out using a 'Dyson' which was very heavy and cumbersome. At last, I broke down and purchased a 'Henry', all I can say is, all those people were absolutely correct!
“It is a very 'easy' product to use and our place is looking spotless! We have a terrier as well and like most short-haired dogs, he sheds loads of little black hairs. Another great aspect is how quiet it is, even our dog doesn't get annoyed by it. I would recommend it most highly to anyone thinking about getting a new hoover.”

Also, the large dustbin capacity means you can clean for long periods of time too, without having to stop and empty.
If you do have a bit more to invest, you can get the George Wet and Dry model for £299, which also offers wet cleaning for floors, carpets and more.
And if going cordless really is a deal breaker, there’s a Henry Quick cordless stick vacuum, which is just as much of a hit with fans.
Definitely worth considering if you’re in the market for a new vacuum...
