Watch video: Bride helps with cousin's proposal on her own wedding day

For most newlyweds their wedding reception is an opportunity to celebrate their "just married" status with friends and family. However Chelsea Pulse and her husband Tyler selflessly allowed their big day in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, act as the scene for two of their loved ones to enjoy a special moment of their own.

Bride Chelsea helped to stage a proposal when she prepared to throw her bouquet to a gathered group of female friends. The tradition goes that whoever catches the bouquet will be next to walk down the aisle, however instead of leaving it down to fate Megan turned and handed it over to her cousin Megan, whose boyfriend of eight years was waiting in anticipation behind her.

During the emotional proposal, Megan's boyfriend got down on one knee as the bride, groom and their guests looked on and cheered. After saying yes the couple embraced, then shared a group hug with the newlyweds who had so generously helped to orchestrate the proposal on their wedding day.

While the video has posed the question of whether it's a good idea to propose at another couple's wedding, Chelsea has insisted she was more than happy to share her big day with her cousin.

She explained to AOL: "When my husband Tyler Pulse and I set our wedding date, Megan told me that was her and Brett Davidson's anniversary so when I was planning, I reached out to Brett and mentioned to him that it would be SO cool if he proposed at the wedding, and so together me, him and Tyler schemed up a plan for him to propose."

Megan and Brett have now set their wedding date for June 2016. Watch the full emotional proposal in the video below from Gold Hairpin Films.
