While mum's at work, dad is in charge – and for Eric Bruce that meant turning everyday moments with his baby son into witty dubsmash videos, in order to bond with the little boy and also entertain his wife while she was at work.

The 30-year-old captured snippets from his time with little Jack on film, and transformed the ordinarily mundane moments into something special by incorporating them with famous songs or iconic movie moments.

Eric Bruce's video starring his son Jack has gone viral

Whether watching his infant chew a teething ring, cry, or even eat broccoli, the Minneapolis father found a creative way to document their time together – and the result is hilarious.

"It was a little glimpse into the past year of raising a baby and having good times together and bonding as father and son," Eric told Today. "And making sure his mum was happy and in the loop after going back to work…

"It's the equivalent of updating her with a picture, but trying to do something a little more special."

He added: "It helps that I'm a huge ham! I had a blast and it's a great way to bond with him and learn how to be a dad and what to do when you're alone and with a baby for the day.

"…The common thread would be things I thought would make Jack smile and would be funny to his mum," he said. "Jack plays a great straight man in the comedy duo. He'll look at me and wonder what's going on."

And what does his wife Priscilla make of the videos? "It just makes me laugh out loud," she said. "It's really a bright spot in my day."
