Scooby Doo actress Sarah Michelle Gellar and her co-star in the film Freddie Prinze Jr hopped across the border from their California home to tie the knot in a hush-hush ceremony atop a Mexican cliff top near Puerto Vallarta.

After a rehearsal dinner featuring traditional cuisine, including fish tacos, enchiladas and Mexican beer, followed by a fun-filled pool party, family and friends were invited to share the happy couple’s nuptials at a secluded estate, the private Sol de Oriente. A six-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion surrounded by a 11,000-square-foot infinity pool, the grounds also include two bungalows and a tower, accessible by an "electric gondola".

The $5,000-per-night home, fully staffed with a cook, butler, maids, gardeners and poolman, was not the original venue, however. Plans for an outdoor beach wedding were thwarted by a sudden hurricane, bringing the three-day party to the villa. However, the inclement weather could not dampen the spirits of the bride – dressed in Vera Wang and flip-flops – and groom, who enjoyed margaritas, mojitos and mariachi bands as they enjoyed their first hours together as husband and wife.
