Ever since Brigitte Bardot started visiting the Cote d'Azur town in the Sixties, it has been a mecca for A-list holidaymakers. In the last year alone David and Victoria Beckham, Liam Neeson, Bono and Denzel Washington have all taken a sojourn on its sun-drenched shores.
Bruce Willis likewise attracted plenty of attention from onlookers when he headed down to one of its 40 beaches, while media darling Paris Hilton found the perfect way to escape over-enthusiastic fans by taking to the water for some high-speed fun on a jet-ski. Accompanied by fiancé Paris Latsis and her little sister Nicky, the hotel heiress also took time out to relax on the $30,000-a-night Insignia yacht.
Beyond the pristine beaches and tranquil waters, the town has lots more to offer, too, with its cobbled streets and pretty buildings creating an irresistibly charming ambience. Local people's favourite pastime is, of course, people-watching. Indeed visitors would be missing out on one the resort's most popular activities if they didn't head for one of the famous café terraces, such as Le Gorille or Sénéquier, and settle in for a few hours of shameless star-spotting.
