USHER AND GAL PAL KICK BACK IN ST BARTS

After a hectic Grammy-winning year in 2005, R&B star Usher has been recharging his batteries with a holiday on the Caribbean island of St Barthelemy.

With a reputation as the St Tropez of the West Indies, the resort is the perfect hangout for the jetsetters in need of rest and relaxation. The prince of bling was certainly getting plenty of both when he was spotted enjoying the company of a female companion.

The pair, who often attend red-carpet events together, exchanged affectionate glances and smiles as they strolled along the beach. The singer kept his famously toned bod under wraps in a white t-shirt and casual shirt, but his gal pal still couldn't resist taking some snaps of the hunk for her album.
The trip by the performer will boost St Bart's reputation as a hotspot for the rich. It is also a favourite with the likes of Harrison Ford and chatshow king David Letterman, both of whom own homes there.

Usually referred to as St Barts, the palm-fringed isle blends the sophistication of France with the laid-back charm of the Caribbean. With its breathtaking vistas, crystal-clear waters and balmy temperatures, the volcanic island is a magnet for visitors all year round.

It also boasts an array of elegant hotels and restaurants, which offer the chance to savour its French-influenced cuisine. And the good news for those who prefer peace and quiet is that with a population of just 7,000, there's no likelihood of being overwhelmed by crowds.
