Nice material, girl: Madonna scores style ace on Petra trip organised by Queen Rania

We've all seen the daring stage outfits, and the headline-grabbing 'bunny ear' Louis Vuitton headpiece. But Madonna's 'sightseeing chic' look as she toured Petra this week is her best ever. The Material Girl was the image of sophistication in a cream suit with a patterned shawl draped elegantly over one shoulder. And finishing the look was a stylish Panama hat. She was enthralled by Jordan's famous ruins as she toured the ancient Rome-era city on the trip, which was arranged by Jordan's Queen Rania. A world heritage site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Petra is visited by thousands of tourists every year. The ancient Nabataean Arabs carved it out of red stone as their capital city in 100BC. To see the impressive archeological site, which has featured in many films including Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, 51-year-old Madonna flew in from neighbouring Israel. It was there she wrapped her Sticky and Sweet world tour on a high note, joined on stage by her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes and Rocco, her son with film director Guy Ritchie.
