Review: The Hotel Zephyr, San Fancisco

hellomagazine.com

Heading to San Francisco and looking for a reasonably priced, quirky hotel?

Let us introduce you to Hotel Zephyr. This upscale boutique hotel is on the waterfront and offers direct views of the San Francisco bay and elegant cityscapes, including panoramic views of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower and the Bay Bridge.

With a nautical theme taking centre stage, guests are made to feel as if they are staying in the captain's quarters – the best accommodation on the ship.

The rooms are stylish and immaculate, with clean and modern decoration providing a spacious feel.

Communal areas boast classic games with a twist – think life-sized Connect 4 and a giant labyrinth game.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zephyr. The location is ideal for those wanting to explore the waterfront and main attractions such as Alcatraz.

The closest hotel to Pier 39, the hotel is only a five minute walk to the landing of Alcatraz, the infamous former prison that visitors can now explore with an audio tour.

While you're in San Francisco, we have another top tip. One of our favourite places is Top of the Mark, a rooftop restaurant and bar offering stunning panoramic views of the city. If you're a fan of sunset cocktails, Top of the Mark is a must.
