Friday 24 October - Serena

Serena
is the third film featuring Oscar favourites Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. An adaptation of Ron Rash's novel, it is set during the 1929 depression and follows the troubled life of Serena and George Pemberton, a husband-and-wife duo in the timber business in the 1930s. The newlyweds make big plans for the business but all isn’t quite as it seems in the Pemberton household, with illegitimate children, murders, and obsession threatening to bring their lives down around them.

Oz Clarke joins the team at Vinopolis for an afternoon of education and exploration on Saturday 25 October, as he details his wine picks for 2015, answers questions and explains the nuances of understanding great wine. Sunday 26 October - NFL in the UK, Atlanta Falcons v. Detroit Lions

American football has been slowly making its way to the UK for several years now, and in 2014 the National Football League sees three of the biggest games of the season being played in London. On Sunday the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons, two of the NFC's biggest teams go head-to-head.

Tuesday 28 October - YO! Sushi half-term parties

Calling all Sushi Lovers! This one-hour class is jam packed full of fun and fish, as it aims to teach children about Japanese food and healthy eating as well as how to make three different types of sushi; maki, nigiri and gunkan. With only ten children per class it's an intimate and informative way to spend an afternoon - and they get to eat their creations afterwards.

Wednesday 29 October - Chill Factore

This October half term, Chill Factore is running Halloween parties and a scary selfie competition in a bid to find the UK’s spookiest snow lover. Between 25 October and 2 November, the UK’s longest real snow slope will play host to ghastly ghouls, ghosts and gremlins, with the scariest guest in fancy dress being awarded a Chill Factore goody bag.

Thursday 30 October - Birmingham's Big Fun - Town Hall History Hunt

The perfect half-term activity for budding young detectives. Join a host of historical characters as they try to solve the mystery of the organist’s missing musical notes so he can play at the Town Hall once more. As well as uncovering the history of Birmingham, youngsters will also discover the stories behind the Town Hall and unlock the power of one of its oldest instruments – the Town Hall organ.
