Madrid's fashionable hotel fuses award-winning cocktails and Michelin stars with pioneering technology

Spain's beguiling capital is hotter than ever, with new foodie markets, fine dining and quirky hotels encompassing its rich culinary tradition and making it the perfect place for a fashionable weekend escape. A new flagship hotel has captured the essence of Madrid, merging Michelin-starred cuisine and award-winning cocktails with cutting edge technology, ensuring smooth sailing when it comes to a city break.

The four-star NH Collection Eurobuilding's entrance makes a grand welcome. An impressive LED vault screen over the lobby is the largest in Europe and projects digital artwork throughout the day, accompanied by cinematic sounds that will have you thinking a plane is about to land. It's no wonder then that Hugh Jackman and Sony pictures chose to host the first-ever holographic press conference in cinematic history at the hotel to promote the release of their new film, Chappie.

Calling itself a Living Lab, the 431-room hotel pioneers wireless charging of mobile devices and video support via tablets – guests can speak to reception face-to-face from the comfort of their room if they wish.

Technology aside, the contemporary hotel is also something of a Michelin-starred hub. Madrid's only three Michelin-starred restaurant, DiverXO, is where David Muñoz serves Iberian-Asian fusion while the two Michelin-starred Paco Roncero and mixologist Diego Cabrera have opened DOMO by Roncero & Cabrera, which delivers a range of international delights as well as Spanish specialities with a modern and delicious twist.

The same duo are behind the award-winning DOMO Lounge & Terrace by Cabrera, where you can indulge in exquisite cocktails in a cool and funky setting.

Completing the culinary quartet is the exclusive 99 Sushi Bar – a wonderful respite for those who have overdone it on the tapas front – with everything from classic Japanese to the most avant garde, innovative dishes on the menu.

With all that plus a swimming pool and a gym, it's only natural that the hotel has already attracted many of the Spanish capital's A-listers.

Double rooms start at €180. For more information visit
