The iconic sportsman, who is now based in London and spends lots of time travelling the globe, seems to have opted for "peaceful paradise" for his celebrations – the meaning of the name of the first Aman resort on the African continent.
The hotel also holds a special place in the retired footballer's heart. He and his fashion designer wife enjoyed a romantic break there in 2004, with reports that they renewed their vows during their romantic break.
Set within an oasis of palms and olive trees that surround an ancient bassin, oozing with Moorish heritage and echoing the style of a sultan's palace, there’s little wonder David chose this little piece of paradise for his A-lister gathering.
It's got all the high-end luxury that the Beckhams could wish for, with facilities including a 27-hole golf course, a 33-metre pool and a renowned spa featuring two Turkish-style hammans.
Huge rooms are divided between 32 pavilions and seven, two-storey maisons and are expansive and decadent in Moroccan-inspired décor with high ceilings and huge amounts of space. Charming features include domed living areas, open fireplaces and private courtyards with gazebos, sofas and dining areas. Immaculate gardens complete the perfect luxury Marrakech oasis.
For fine Moroccan dining the Beckhams can visit the hotel restaurant, which also serves up Mediterranean cuisine. For something different they can head to the Thai restaurant on-site, or better still they can hire out a space for some exclusive private dining. No doubt the gents of the group will also make a pit-stop at the cigar bar, which will also be close to hand.
