FILM

Crimson Peak

If you're looking for a horror film that'll make your blood run cold this Halloween, Crimson Peak is a front-runner. Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston have joined forces to star in the new fantasy drama that follows the story of Edith, a young American who is seduced by a mysterious man Thomas and goes to England to settle in his haunted gothic mansion. Also living with the married couple is Thomas' sister Lady Lucille, played by the talented Jessica Chastain, who will do anything to protect her family's dark secrets, even if that means terrorising Edith. Guillermo del Toro directs the gothic romance film and shows off his knack for unforgettable visuals.

BOOK

According to Yes

Dawn French, author of A Tiny Bit Marvellous and Oh Dear Silvia, has released her new heart-warming novel According to Yes. The comedy legend sets her latest story in The Foreign Land of the Very Wealthy, otherwise known as Manhattan's Upper East Side, where rules are rules and great displays of emotion are thoroughly unacceptable. The Wilder-Bingham family adhere to these rules – that is until Rosie Kitto, an eccentric 38-year-old primary school teacher from England, enters their lives. After a lifetime of saying no, what happens when everyone starts saying... yes?
