Formula One ace Michael Schumacher has found a rather more scenic way to indulge his passion for speed. The champion driver was pictured along with his wife Corinna enjoying a snowy break in the Italian ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio.

Nestled in the picturesque Dolomite mountains, the resort is considered one of Italy’s most desirable destinations. Recognised for the quality of both its snow and facilities, it is popular with skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

There are five ski schools to help those still finding their feet. But even accomplished veterans can find a challenge, because there are also a number of black slopes, used by world champions.

Michael and his Ferrari team mates were obviously well practiced, because they opted to go heli-skiing rather than use the regular runs. The party hopped aboard a chopper and made their way to one of area's highest peaks before swooshing their way down the mountainside.
