To spot fashionistas take a bite or two between shows, head to glitzy Italian restaurant Lincoln.

Indochine 

Since opening its doors in 1984 this venue on Lafayette Street – with quirky checkerboard black-and-white floors and palm-print wallpaper – has become a New York institution, hosting after-parties for the elite of both the fashion and film worlds.

The timeless classic restaurant fills with a stylish crowd, such as supermodel Naomi Campbell and designers like Marc Jacobs during New York Fashion Week.

Fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg once said of the establishment, that creates Vietnamese cuisine with a French twist, "When things are very good, they last!!!

"Indochine is one of those things, timelessly cool."

The Tippler

Tucked beneath Chelsea Market, The Tippler is just a stone's throw from the show space at Milk Studios – a favourite presentation venue for many lines including Ohne Tutel, Tim Coppens and Suno, who will all reveal their latest collections this season.

So this cavern-type bar, with traditional features from its days as a huge stockroom – brick archways and industrial undertones – is an obvious choice for A-list after-parties during fashion week

And you'll want to join them when you see the cocktail menu, which includes colourful drinks like the Booty Collins, a combination of gunpowder tea-infused Belvedere vodka, passionfruit, lemon, yohimbe and cayenne

New York City Library

Designer Victoria Beckham usually talks the fashion editors through each piece of her new collection personally, demonstrating how she designed the garments, before showcasing on the catwalk.

And her chosen venue for this personal preview has been the New York Public Library, where she may well choose to unveil her latest collection again this season.

Having been featured in both Breakfast at Tiffany's and the Sex and the City, the library is a quintessential New York landmark

Electric Room, Dream Downtown

The basement Electric Room – owned by club impresario Nur Khan – hosts some of New York's most exclusive events.

Hidden away in The Dream Downtown, this hotspot venue has hosted parties for the likes of Marc Jacobs, L'Wren Scott, Marchesa, Rag & Bone, Victoria's Secret, Rachel Zoe and Prabal Gurung.
