If you're after inspiration for your next holiday, look no further. New research has revealed the best 20 travel experiences of 2017 and with everything from walking the Great Wall of China to exploring the Grand Canyon by helicopter, there are some seriously wanderlust-inducing ideas.

Travel brand Contiki asked 18 to 35 year olds to share their most coveted travel plans to compile the ultimate 'No Regrets List' of 2017 – scroll below to find your next adventure…

1. Bathe in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland

This breathtaking lagoon is a geothermal spa set against the backdrop of Iceland's stunning landscapes. The waters are a balmy 37 to 40 degrees and self-cleanse every 40 hours, while their silica, algae and minerals make for a great skincare boost!

2. See the Great Pyramids of Giza

Built over 5000 years ago and nestled on the west bank of the Nile by the expansive Sahara Desert, it comes as no surprise that the Great Pyramids top most people's bucket lists. Make sure to check out the oldest and largest Great Pyramid – it's one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

3. Walk the Great Wall of China

There's no doubt that the Great Wall is awe-inspiring: at 21,196 kilometres long and over 2,300 years old, it's sure to make for a walk to remember.

4. Relax on the beach in Byron Bay

Holidays are all about unwinding, and what better place to relax than the golden sands of Byron Bay? If you'd prefer something active, there's also the opportunity to kayak the mangroves or even to go dolphin spotting!

5. Road trip along Route 66

This iconic highway runs 2,448 miles from Chicago to LA, and has inspired countless artists, authors and singers. Stay in vintage motels or old school diners for an old school American feel.

One of the oldest nature preserves in the whole of the United States, this park's 1,200 square miles boasts everything from cascading waterfalls and weaving streams to jaw-dropping granite formations.

9.  Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef

Renowned for its incredible wildlife, a snorkelling trip could leave you dolphins, turtles and even reef sharks, not to mention there are over 400 types of coral and 1500 species of tropical fish.

10. Zipline through the rainforest in Costa Rica

Costa Rica has some of the longest zipline courses in the world so you can soar through its tropical canopy while checking out the beautiful surroundings and exotic wildlife.
