While we love looking inside celebrity houses, the majority of them tend to be a little (okay, a lot) out of our budget. So we were surprised to see that Oprah Winfrey, the billionaire talk show host, is selling a house that doesn't cost millions. The media mogul has listed a four bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom home in Elmwood Park, Chicago for $393,875 (around £303,000).

Oprah bought the property in 2001 but never lived there. It is not known what Oprah used the house for but it appears to have been part of an investment in her long-time hometown, as she also bought – and has since sold – two further properties in the area.

So what will you get for your money? The home is 2,255 square feet in size, with an attached garage, driveway, garden and spacious rooms, all of which appear to be in good condition. Click through the gallery to take a look inside…

The home is bright and spacious, with large windows letting in plenty of natural light. A traditional open log fireplace can be found in the living room, which also has hardwood flooring and recessed lighting. This spacious room has a neutral décor, so it should be easy for new owners to put their own stamp on the property.

The kitchen is a reasonable size with white fitted cupboards and appliances, including a large oven and fridge-freezer. With the same hardwood flooring and neutral walls as the rest of the home, this room is in good condition and leads onto a separate dining room where Oprah's future owners can sit and eat together.

Oprah's house has two-and-a-half bathrooms, including this small bathroom which has a separate corner shower cubicle in a terracotta tiled design. There is also a larger bathroom with a white three-piece suite in the home, which was built in 1941 and bought by Oprah in 2001.

The home has four bedrooms, including this large room that is located just off the upstairs hallway. It features the same hardwood flooring as the rest of the property and also has a large built in wardrobe with sliding mirrored doors, so there is plenty of storage space for the future owners.

Oprah's spacious property has a large rear garden, along with an attached garage and driveway at the side of the house. The colonial-style home has been built to withstand the challenging weather conditions throughout the winter, and has been kept in a good condition despite no one living there.
