Wizarding Wardrobes at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter Tour
Renowned hat designer to royalty and the stars alike, Philip Treacy OBE, launched the new exhibit at Warner Bros.' amazing Harry Potter Tour which opens today, Friday 21. Philip designed the hat which would complete the uniform of the French wizarding school, Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and now Potter super-fans can see a whole host of awesome behind-the-scenes costume and makeup tricks, including a display that shows how Philip's stunning hats were designed, moulded and created.
This fabulous six-week exhibition adds another new level of excitement to the already super-popular Studio Tour. A selection of outfits, used in the actual films, are being exhibited for the first time, such as Rita Skeeter’s glamourous togs, and the costumes worn by Hogwarts professors Lupin, Umbridge and Lockhart.
Those with an interest in makeup can find out exactly how artist Amanda Knight and Lisa Tomblin applied Harry’s iconic lightning bolt scar 6,000 times during filming! And how they managed to create the look of Bellatrix Lestrange’s pointed teeth!
This special feature will run until Monday, 4th September. Tickets must be pre-booked at wbstudiotour.co.uk.
KidZania's new Pet Wellbeing Centre
KidZania London have launched an exciting new activity where kids learn how to keep pets happy and healthy, in partnership with leading pet food brand Lily's Kitchen and the UK's leading veterinary charity PDSA.
KidZania's new Pet Wellbeing Centre includes role-play situations where children learn about the five welfare needs, including good pet nutrition. They can examine real-life animal x-rays and even 'perform surgery' on a poorly pet!
The Pet Wellbeing Centre has been created to educate the next generation of pet owners about animal welfare in a fun and engaging way. The UK is a nation of pet lovers, but research has revealed that 85% 1 of children have never heard about the five animal welfare needs (environment, diet, behaviour, companionship and health) and just 26% 1 have been taught how to care for pets at school.
The activity joins the wide range of 'careers' at the 'indoor city run by kids' designed to both entertain and educate children.
