Taking the kids to a festival is a fantastic and fun-filled way to spend a summer weekend - and the memories you'll make are priceless.

The ‘alternative’ UK festival circuit draws a big and friendly crowd, taking in immersive theatre workshops, celebrations of science and literature and the best in children’s entertainment.

This year's Deva Fest offers music and comedy across five stages, with the likes of Feeder, Will Young, Fleur East and Five performing - there's also a brand new Dance Stage featuring the best of house, old school and rave. 

Deva Laughs comedy is back, plus hand-picked street food traders, art and parades, Gin masterclasses, a selection of bars and a free-to-use fairground (parents rejoice) Kids Kingdom, Circus workshops, shows, and water sports.

Green Man Festival, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Wales on 17-20 August

This four-day festival held in the Brecon Beacons sees artists Self Esteem, Devo, First Aid Kit and Spiritualized take to the stage. It's Wales' biggest and most famous festival and there's something for everyone. Kids and adults alike will love Einstein's Garden, a haven of scientific activity.

The festival also has the 'Little Folk' zone, aimed at children from babies to 12-year-olds. Think creative workshops, activites and imaginative adventures, and all are free after entry!

The Big Feastival, Alex James’ Farm in the Cotswolds on 25-27 August

Located in the Cotswolds, the award-winning ‘The Big Feastival’ is back at Alex James’ farm this year from 25-27 August. The ultimate family festival offers everything from music stages and art classes and fun games.
