Prepare for the London Marathon at Barry's St Paul's

Barry's Bootcamp in St Paul's London
Barry's Bootcamp in St Paul's London

Anyone training for the London Marathon (or any marathon, for that matter!) will be well aware of the battering your muscles take in the run-up to the race. With this in mind, Barry's in St Pauls has partnered with physiotherapy specialists Anatomie Physiotherapy to create a limited-edition package, called Run and Recover.

Available until the end of April, the package includes a class at any Barry’s London studio and a muscle-reviving 30-minute sports massage with an Anatomie Physiotherapy specialist in a private treatment room located within Barry’s St Paul's studio. The sports massage utilises deep tissue techniques, to reduce muscular tension, discomfort and pain to help a wide variety of conditions associated with overuse injuries.

We tried the package and left the studio post-class with legs that felt as light as air, with no sign of the exertion they'd just been through in the red room!

Chop Chop restaurant booths Chinese restaurant London Hippodrome

You might not think the Hippodrome Casino would be home to a gourmet dining destination, but you’d be wrong. Inspired by 1960’s Hong Kong with counter seating and cosy booths, the unassuming venue’s menu is seriously varied and delicious, serving up an array of favourites including an extension dim sum selection and flavourful duck pancakes.

Other highlights include lobster and a steamed whole seabass with ginger – perfectly seasoned and melt in your mouth delicious. Of course, we also had to try Four Seasons’ Hong Kong style roast duck, and it lived up to its reputation. Crispy and juicy, it certainly delivered on taste. We loved how authentic everything was – even down to the unassuming ice cream sticks for dessert (highly recommend the White Rabbit). Perhaps the best thing about the subterranean restaurant is the hours, though. Open from 6pm until 4am, Chop Chop is perfect for both a quick pre-theatre bite to eat in the heart of the West End as it is for refuelling following a late night on the town.
