Ascot Racecourse’s specially commissioned ‘World Like Nowhere Else’ globe, adorned with 30 hand painted illustrations telling the tale of Royal Ascot, has embarked on a journey around the UK for members of the public to see. Having been unveiled at The Goring Hotel before being on display at Christie’s and The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh last month, it will now reside in some of the finest hotels in the south, each of which will welcome the globe with their own individual celebratory initiatives.
The bespoke globe tells the story of Royal Ascot's long-standing traditions and rich heritage. Illustrations depict some of the most iconic and recognised elements of Ascot, including the Royal Procession, the renowned Greencoats, Afternoon Tea, the famous bandstand, and of course the well-heeled attendees. London-based globe makers Bellerby & Co. took the globe to its final iteration.
The globe will arrive at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons on 9th May. Resident chef Raymond Blanc OBE, who plays a central role at Royal Ascot bringing his expertise from the acclaimed UK country house hotel to the racecourse again this year at the Panoramic Restaurant, will welcome the globe and it will reside in pride of place for two weeks.
Edging closer to it’s final stop at Ascot racecourse, the globe’s next two stops will be in Berkshire. Upon arrival at Cliveden House on 22nd May, it will be displayed in the Great Hall. The final stop is Coworth Park, the luxurious country-house hotel set in 450 acres of Berkshire countryside, where the globe will stay from 5th June until the week of Royal Ascot.
Royal Ascot, one of the most anticipated events in the British summer sporting and social calendar, will be held from Tuesday 20th – Saturday 24th June. Tickets start from £37. To book or for further information visit ascot.co.uk or call 0844 346 3000.
