Nicola Peltz may have not spent Christmas with her mother-in-law at the Beckhams' annual Cotswolds family festivities, but she is still very much ensconced within Victoria's style fold.
In a post shared on Instagram with her 2.7m followers, Nicola sported not one but two major accessories that felt unmistakably VB.

Celebrating the new year in style, Nicola spent some quality time with pal Selena Gomez and husband Brooklyn Beckham on a yacht in Cabo (a low-key start to 2023 if ever we saw one). Following on from their NYE extravaganza – in case you missed it, the celeb BFF duo wore matching custom-made Valentino sequin mini dresses – the pair posed on the deck while touching up their makeup with products from Selena's brand, Rare Beauty.

The scraped back look, achieved via a printed bandana or a jersey headband à la Nicola, was a key hair trend that dominated the 1990s and 2000s, rocked by noughties style icons such as Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez and, of course, Clueless' revered Dionne Davenport.
The ever-prevalent Y2K trend means that the accessory is all the rage right now, with other contemporary stars such as Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa having also taken the nostalgic look for a spin.

In short, Nicola is in excellent company – and that includes her husband’s mother. Following the turn of the millennium and the tragic dissolution of the Spice Girls, Victoria had a strong penchant for the scraped back hairstyle during her solo music days.

"I look at everything as good at the time and part of a journey that has brought me to where I am now. I don't cringe at many pictures, to be honest," Victoria told Glamour UK in 2019.
"Would I wear a Burberry bandana these days? Absolutely not!" she revealed. "But at the time it felt right and I'm proud of what me and David have achieved."
