After two years of Covid-induced cancellations this fashion month certainly brought back the atmosphere and buzz we haven't seen since pre-2019.

"This fashion month felt so much more intense and frantic than before - in a good way." Photographer Joseph Bishop explains, "The shows seemed bigger, the spectacle was grander and there was a real frenetic energy in the air for the whole month." Joseph attended countless shows across New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Week to document the biggest stars and parties in the world from Vogue World's incredible celebration to mark its 130th anniversary to Balmain's star studded catwalk. Here he shares his series of polaroids exclusively with Hello! Fashion

Tell us about your Fashion Month, what shows did you attend?

"Fashion Month was very full on. We started in NYC; as soon as we got off the plane we went straight to the Proenza Schouler show which was great. Here I shot the first Polaroid picture of fashion month which was Karlie Kloss, followed by Emily Ratajkowski and Amelie Gassmann. Milan and Paris were just as fast paced, once we landed in Milan we jumped into a car and headed straight to the Dolce & Gabbana x Kim show, it was such a spectacle and the Italian fans and crowds were insane. The Balmain show in Paris was spectacular on another level, it really felt like a celebration of fashion and design. Balenciaga felt otherworldly and dystopia and shooting Luisaviaroma at Versailles felt like stepping into a period drama, it was the perfect juxtaposition."

What was the most fun event you attended?

"The Area fashion show in NYC was pretty cool. We had complete access to the dressing room, fittings, hair and makeup, backstage and show. The looks were so out of this world and just photographed beautifully, it was hectic but so much fun to be a part of. And then there's Vogue World, from a cultural standpoint it was quite special to be a part of it. Almost every famous face from the world of fashion was there, including designers like, Tory Birch, Michael Kors, Lazaro and Jack from Proenza Schouler and Wes Gordon."

Who did you enjoy meeting the most?

"New York was full of so many interesting people! From Doja Cat, to Lil Nas X. Tory Burch was so kind and lovely - she spoke with us for a while and took real interest in what we had to say. I have met both Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana before and they are always so open and friendly and really mix and talk to the guests. We attended the Jacquemus store opening which felt much more intimate. I met Simon at a party in the Ritz in Paris a few months back and he is just so down to earth and mild mannered, a real gent."

What was the reaction to your Polaroids?

"Reaction to Polaroid pictures is almost always positive, they are such a snapshot of a moment and there is a retro sense of ease that comes with shooting on Polaroid that you don't get with a modern digital camera. Whether it was Jared Leto or Lil Nas X, personalities seem to open up when asked for a Polaroid picture. Invariably, people want to keep the picture so I often have to take two or three just to be able to keep my own, it's pretty nice when a movie star or supermodel wants to leave with a photo I have taken. It was lovely to see people such as Lila Moss, Eva Chen, La La Anthony and Emma Roberts share the pictures to their Instagram profiles."

What tricks do you have for capturing the moment?

"Just be genuine and happy in the situation you're in, which is pretty special most of the time. People react much better if you are courteous and polite, and then are far more open to taking direction. Variety is also key, the best thing about the series is that the moment always changes, there is never repetition, it always remains fresh."
