Gigi Hadid proved that she is just as happy to take a fashion risk as her sister Bella is, and deviate from the norm when it comes to red carpet dressing.
She attended the CFDA Fashion Awards held in New York on Monday, wearing the 2022 version of the naked dress. Aka: Visible lingerie. The trend has been lying dormant since the 2000s when visible thongs were all the rage (Bonus points if there were rhinestones.)

Gigi Hadid wore Thom Browne
The 27-year-old super model donned a plethora of contrasting patterns and tweeds, in a red white and blue colour scheme from Thom Browne. The vibe was modern american dream, and the outfit was a masterclass in mixing patterns. Out of the waistband of her striped trousers was a visible high waisted boxer-thong hybrid. The uptown American prep, complete with nautical anchor belt, was modernised by her unique spin on the look. The day after quitting Twitter Gigi wore a septum piercing and blue (yes blue) lipstick. With her hair in a slicked back bun, it only highlighted the avant garde beauty look.
Julia Fox showed off both her pants and bra
Of course she wasn't the only one who pulled out all the stops for the star studded event, also in attendance was our favourite fashion maverick Julia Fox, wearing a cut out (and we mean cut out) dress with visible lingerie (both bra and pants) on show, cementing it as the ultimate trend to try this season (a coat is advisable.)
Katie Holmes proves sheer is the way to go
Katie Holmes also gave us a stunning moment in a translucent sparkling crystal fringe Jonathan Simkhai dress. Amanda Seyfried got the visible lingerie memo in a Michael Kors Collection jumpsuit, the sheer black trousers showing off her black high waisted undergarments.

Who is Thom Browne?
Thom Browne is an American designer born in1965 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is the founder and head of design for his eponymous luxury fashion brand Thom Browne, which is based in New York City. Known for his reconceptualization of the classic men's suit his stardom became stratospheric after then-U.S. first lady Michelle Obama wore one of his designs to the presidential inauguration in 2013. Despite largely focussing mainly on menswear he debuted his womenswear collection in 2014.
