Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the New Year's reception for the officers from the Armed Forces and the National Emergency Management Agency. Held at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen on January 4, we saw a third glamorous gown from the future Queen in less than a week.

The Australian-born royal appeared to be taking style cues from the British royals including the Princess of Wales in her stunning Burgundy gown. The hue was reminiscent of Kate’s coat dress she wore to the ‘Together at Christmas' Carol Service at Westminster Abbey in London. For the touching occasion, Princess Kate opted for a burgundy colour palette – and she wasn't alone. Other family members such as Zara Tindall, Princess Charlotte and Kate's younger sister Pippa Middleton also donned the festive hue for the outing.

The dress and matching cape that Mary sported for the occasion was from Lasse Spangenberg, a favourite of the Danish royal. The eponymous Copenhagen based designer has been creating wedding dresses and evening dresses since 2001, when he opened shop for the first time on HC Ørstedsvej in the heart of Frederiksberg.

It’s been a busy week of events for Mary since her return from a family Christmas holiday to her homeland of Australia. Just yesterday (January 3) the royal donned a silver dress from Danish luxury brand Heartmade for a New Year's reception for the diplomatic corps at Christiansborg Palace.

The burgundy ensemble Mary sported is from one of her favourite Danish designers

The appearance came two days after the Danish royal family led by Queen Margrethe were out in force for their annual New Year's Gala Dinner in Copenhagen on January 1. Again we saw Mary champion Lasse, wearing a bespoke Lasse Spangenberg gown she has worn before, and J.Furmani Stone Flap Clutch in Silver. The ultimate accessory however was the Danish Ruby parure, a favourite tiara of Mary’s.
